This website is intended as a showcase for my best recent
and archive work. I started photographing when I was given my first
Brownie 127 film camera at 14 years of age. My interest developed
alongside my painting and the two interests cross over. I took street
and people pictures initially. I enjoyed painting the figure and found
it easier to use photos. I realised early on that to paint the figure
from photos, I needed to take my own – the result being that
I ended up doing glamour photography full time during the 1990s.
I started shooting waterfalls in the early 2000s thinking this as
a good backdrop for my glamour photography, but this became a separate
interest for it's own sake and I published the book 'Waterfalls in
the South Brecons' (now sold out). I no longer have the energy to
wander far and wide.
My chosen subject at present is street photography (people) now
closely followed by urban decay and landscape. These subjects are
updated with newly taken images and the glamour and waterfalls are
updated from the vast archive. The wildlife is incidental as this
is not my main interest.
